From the cruise terminal to the city centre
The medina climb to the Kasbah is stepped and steep but unmissable. Sidewalks continue along Avenue Mohammed VI to Boulevard Pasteur.
📍 Walk straight off the pier through the gate onto Avenue Mohammed VI; Petit Socco is 8 minutes uphill.
Tangier petits taxis are blue (different from Casablanca's red). Cash-only and capped at 3 passengers. Grand taxis (white) negotiate flat fares for Cap Spartel and Asilah.
📍 Blue petits taxis at the gate and on Avenue Mohammed VI; insist on the meter (compteur) before riding.
Best option for Cap Spartel, Asilah, Tetouan and Hercules Caves combined excursions.
📍 Cruise-line and tour-operator coaches wait at the gate.
ONCF trains south to Asilah and north-south Al-Boraq high-speed line to Casablanca. No rail link to Tetouan.
📍 Tanger Ville ONCF station is 1.2 km from the cruise gate; petits taxi (10-15 DH) or 15 min walk.
Coach is the only public option to Tetouan (1 hr) and Chefchaouen (2 hr). Slow and not recommended for tight cruise schedules.
📍 CTM and Supratours coaches leave from the bus station 1 km west of the gate.
Rare for cruise day — book ahead if you want to drive to Cap Spartel, Asilah or Chefchaouen yourself.
📍 Rental offices in Tangier town and at Tanger-Ibn Battuta airport (15 km south).
