The Kasbah crowns the medina hill at the northern edge of the old town. Inside the walls, Dar el Makhzen — the 17th-century Sultan's palace — now houses the Museum of Moroccan Arts and Mediterranean Cultures. Walls open onto narrow blue-and-white painted lanes and a small terrace with views over the Strait of Gibraltar.
