🕐 Best time to visit
Late afternoon when locals fill the cafés.
The compact triangular square at the commercial heart of the medina, where the four main lanes meet. Cafés on the square have been here since the 1920s and were the favourite hangout of Paul Bowles, William Burroughs and Allen Ginsberg in the International Zone era. A 15 DH mint tea buys you a seat for as long as you like.
Getting there from the port
Walk uphill from the gate via Avenue Mohammed VI and Rue de la Marine.
