This is a tender call into Giardini Naxos bay directly below Taormina. From the Giardini Naxos quay, walk ~10 min to the Interbus stop and take the Interbus up to Taormina (Porta Messina), 25 min, about €1.90 one-way / €3.40 return, departures roughly every 15–30 min in summer. The Ancient Theatre is a 10-min walk from Porta Messina along Corso Umberto and costs €14 online / €12 at the gate. Everything in town is on foot; the Mazzarò cable car (€10 return) only matters if you want to drop down to Isola Bella beach.

Etna South (Rifugio Sapienza) is roughly 1h45 by road from Giardini Naxos via the A18 motorway, so a DIY day needs a pre-booked private or shared transfer — there is no practical same-day public-transport route from this port (the AST Etna bus runs only from Catania city). At Rifugio Sapienza the Funivia dell'Etna cable car is about €50 return to 2500 m; the Silvestri Craters at 1900 m are free to walk. This is at the outer edge of a cruise-day catchment — only attempt it with a confirmed return time built in.
