The Tower of London has been a royal palace, prison, arsenal and treasure house for almost a thousand years. Come for the Crown Jewels, the Yeoman Warder (Beefeater) tours, the ravens and the medieval White Tower. It is the closest major London sight to Fenchurch Street, which makes it the natural first stop on a Tilbury day.
