Housed in Kengo Kuma's striking TOYAMA Kirari building - a lattice of glass, aluminium and local cedar - the Toyama Glass Art Museum is the city's design showpiece. Toyama has been a glass town since the 1980s, and the collection ranges from delicate studio pieces to a permanent Dale Chihuly installation, all lit by daylight tumbling down the atrium.
