The city is also a rail hub - JR limited-express trains reach Kyoto in about an hour for a big day trip, and the Mikata Five Lakes and their Rainbow Line summit are a 40-60 minute drive west.

From the cruise terminal to the city centre
On cruise days a shuttle bus usually runs from the Mariyama-minami pier to central Tsuruga (Kehi Jingu / Red Brick Warehouse / Tsuruga Station); confirm the last return time on board.
