🕐 Best time to visit
Late morning; pair with the Kanegasaki waterfront
Built in 1905 as oil-storage sheds, Tsuruga's twin red-brick warehouses now hold a cafe-and-restaurant wing and a museum wing whose centrepiece is a large model diorama of the port town in its early-20th-century heyday as a gateway between Japan and Europe. It is an easy, atmospheric stop right on the Kanegasaki waterfront.
