The Gothic Quarter, Barceloneta beach, and the waterfront are all easily walkable from the city centre. Wear comfortable shoes — the old town has cobblestones.
Barcelona's metro is fast, frequent, and air-conditioned. Lines L3 (green) and L4 (yellow) are most useful for tourists. Buy a T-Casual 10-trip card for best value.
