The Kizil Kule, or Red Tower, is Alanya's emblem: a 33-metre octagonal tower of red brick built in 1226 to defend the harbour and the shipyard below it. You can climb the five floors around its central cistern to a rooftop with sweeping harbour views, and the lower levels hold a small ethnographic museum. It stands right on the waterfront a few minutes from the pier and is the natural first stop of an old-town walk, often on a combined ticket with the shipyard.
Getting there from the port
A few minutes' walk along the harbour from the cruise pier.
