The Hostellerie des Îles (formerly the Auberge des Îles du Salut) occupies the old guards' buildings on the plateau and is the only place to eat and drink in the archipelago. Lunch is a buffet of Creole and French dishes for about €29, and the bar serves cold drinks and local fruit juices. On big-ship days it gets busy, so arrive early. Picnics are allowed elsewhere on the island.

Walk up the paved track from the landing stage to the plateau (about 10 minutes).
