Only on ship-run landings; go first thing, before the heat
On the summit of Île Saint-Joseph stand the ruins of the réclusion, where convicts served sentences in total silence in cells covered only by iron grilles, watched by guards on walkways above. Roots and vines now grow through the walls. Near the shore there's a small cemetery for the guards and their families, and a beach. You can only come here on a landing your ship organises.
