Any time you are ashore; shade is thin so mid-morning or late afternoon is kindest
Saline Bay is where the tenders land, and the beach runs several hundred metres either side of the jetty. The sand is pale and the water calm and shallow, so it works as a straightforward swim-and-sit day if you would rather not tackle the hill. Behind the beach lies the salt pond that gives the bay its name, with a footpath crossing to the windward side of the island for a short flat walk. On cruise days local boats pull up on the sand offering snorkelling runs, and Dennis' Hideaway is minutes away.
