Everything on the island is reached on foot along a single one-lane concrete road that climbs steeply from the jetty to the village on Station Hill and drops down the far side to Salt Whistle Bay. Allow about 15 minutes uphill and 15 down; it is unshaded and steep enough to be hard work in midday heat. There is no ATM, no tourist office and no reliable public WiFi on the island, so bring small-denomination cash. Most calls here are small luxury or expedition ships that stay half a day.

Saline Bay Jetty — Tender Landing
Mayreau is tender-only: ships anchor off Saline Bay on the island's south-west shore and run tenders to the short concrete jetty at the north end of the beach. Expedition ships often skip the jetty altogether and land Zodiacs directly on the sand, so a wet landing is possible. There is no terminal building, no shops, no ATM and no reliable mobile signal at the landing — the nearest cash machine is on Union Island. From the jetty a single steep concrete road climbs about 700 m (15 minutes uphill) to Old Wall village, the Catholic church and the hilltop viewpoint; Salt Whistle Bay is a further 15 to 20 minutes over the ridge. Water taxis and Tobago Cays boat trips leave from the same beach. Landings are occasionally cancelled when swell wraps into the bay.

Mayreau is tender-only: you land at the small concrete jetty on Saline Bay beach. Local boatmen pull their skiffs up on the sand beside the jetty on cruise days and run the same 20-minute crossing to the marine park for roughly US$50-90 per person return, cash, negotiated on the spot. The Tobago Cays Marine Park charges its own entry fee on top, around US$10-15 per person paid in cash to the ranger; bring your own mask if you can, though most boatmen carry a few spare sets.

From the tender jetty on Saline Bay you can simply walk: one concrete road climbs steeply over Station Hill and drops down the far side to Salt Whistle Bay, about 30-35 minutes each way, unshaded and hard work in midday heat. There is no fare and no ticket for anything. A small beach bar under the palms serves cold drinks and grilled fish, cash only in EC or US dollars, and if the walk back looks too much, the same boatmen who work Saline Bay will run you round the coast for a negotiated fare.
