🕐 Best time to visit
Late morning once the walk is done; the light is best before mid-afternoon
Salt Whistle Bay sits on a narrow neck of land at the north end of Mayreau, so you can stand with the calm Caribbean on one side and the Atlantic breaking on the other about eighty metres away. The Caribbean side is a shallow crescent of soft sand that shelves gently, which makes it one of the easiest swimming beaches in the Grenadines. A few yachts lie at anchor and a small beach bar serves cold drinks under the palms, but there are no loungers or facilities, so bring water and your own shade.
Getting there from the port
Walk up the concrete road from the tender jetty and down the far side; about 30 minutes each way
