Anytime; combine with the old-town walk
The Frankish (Venetian) Kastro was raised around 1260 on the ancient acropolis of Paros, and its walls are a striking jumble of reused marble column drums and blocks from a classical temple that once stood here. Little of the castle survives, but the marble-studded walls and the old-town churches around them are an atmospheric, free stop on the walk up from the harbour.
Getting there from the port
A short uphill walk through the old-town lanes from the waterfront.
