As soon as you're up the hill, before the market stalls get busy
Adamstown's small square is where Pitcairn life happens. The anchor of HMS Bounty, raised from Bounty Bay in 1957, sits on a plinth in front of the Public Hall, with the church, the post office and the courthouse on the other sides. On a landing day this is also where the islanders set out their stalls, so it's the natural first stop after the climb from The Landing. The museum is a couple of minutes' walk along the road.
