La Sebastiana was one of Pablo Neruda's three houses, bought in 1959 and named after its first owner. The Nobel Prize-winning poet had it rebuilt as a narrow, five-storey tower at the top of Cerro Bellavista so every room looks out over the bay. Inside are his collections of ship figureheads, maps, coloured glass and oddities, plus the bar where he hosted friends and the study at the top. An audio guide explains each floor. The stairs are steep and narrow, so it is not suitable for wheelchairs. The house gets busy when several ships are in; arrive at 10:00 opening or late in the afternoon. Afterwards, walk downhill through the Open Sky Museum murals to Plaza Victoria and take the train or an Uber back to VTP.
