From there the modern town, beach, marina and King Nikola's Palace are walkable, while cheap taxis reach Stari Bar, the Old Olive Tree and Lake Skadar. It is a quieter, less touristy stop than Kotor or Dubrovnik.

The ship docks at Bar's working port and taxis wait at the gate. A taxi to Stari Bar is about €6 one-way (4–15 min) or the local bus is €1; the fortress costs about €3–€5 to enter. From Stari Bar a short taxi reaches Stara Maslina (the ancient olive tree, ~€3 entry), then King Nikola's Palace back on the Bar waterfront (~€2). Everything is within a 15-minute radius of the port, so taxis are the simplest glue.

From Bar the train to Virpazar takes about 27 minutes and costs €1–4, but runs only roughly every 3 hours; intercity buses (~€2, 30 min) are more frequent, so check both and pick a return that comfortably beats all-aboard. At the Virpazar lakeside, Kingfisher runs a 2-hour guided wooden-boat tour for €22.15 including national-park entry. A taxi (~€30–€35 each way) is the low-stress alternative to public transport if your port window is tight.
