Kos is a docked, in-town port, so the castle, plane tree and agora are a flat 5-minute walk off the ship (castle entry about €4-6). For the Asklepion 4 km away, hire a bike (about €5-10/day) on the harbourfront, take the seasonal tourist train (~€6 return) or a local bus, or a taxi (~€8-10 each way); Asklepion entry is about €8.

Zia is about 15 km up Mount Dikeos, so this is a taxi day rather than a walk: agree a round trip with a Kos Town taxi (roughly €50-60 the car, so ~€12-15pp for four, plus waiting time). Public KTEL buses to the Asfendiou villages are sparse and awkward for a ship day; once in Zia everything - craft shops, viewpoint, tavernas - is on foot.
