Lindesnes fyr marks the southernmost point of mainland Norway. A light was first lit here in 1656, making it the country's oldest lighthouse station, and the present cast-iron tower dates from 1915. The ticket covers the tower, wartime fortifications on the headland and a visitor centre built into the mountain, with exhibitions, a short film and a café. The visitor centre is wheelchair-accessible; the paths on the rocks are steep in places.
Getting there from the port
About 50 minutes by taxi or hire car via Vigeland; no public transport to the lighthouse.
