Late morning; the flea market stalls open from about 9am

The French Market runs along Decatur Street from Café du Monde towards Esplanade Avenue. The covered sheds hold food stalls serving po'boys, oysters and pralines, followed by a long flea market of crafts, hot sauces, T-shirts and Mardi Gras masks. It's touristy but fun, and a good place for an easy lunch. The Riverfront streetcar ends right at the market.

Getting there from the port

Riverfront streetcar to the French Market stop at the end of the line, or a 40-minute riverfront walk.
