Dzibilchaltún was inhabited for around 2,000 years and is the easiest Maya site to reach from the ship. A white sacbé (causeway) leads from the central plaza, with its Spanish open chapel, to the Temple of the Seven Dolls, named after seven clay figurines found inside and famous for its equinox sunrise alignment. The Cenote Xlacah is a deep natural pool beside the plaza; swimming is currently restricted. The Museo del Pueblo Maya at the entrance is one of the best small museums in Yucatán. The site has little shade, so start early.
