Oak Ridge, on Roatan's quieter east side, is a fishing village built around a sheltered harbour, with houses on stilts and channels cut through the mangroves. Locals call it the Venice of Roatan. The way to see it is from the water: local boatmen run short rides past the over-water homes and into the mangrove tunnels towards Jonesville. It is a world away from West Bay and an easy pairing with Punta Gorda.
