From Takenouchi (or Showa) Wharf, Izumo is about 55 km and 75 minutes away and slow by rail (Sakai Line to Yonago, JR to Izumoshi, then an Ichibata bus), so a shared chartered taxi or hire car for the day is the practical DIY - roughly ¥28,000-38,000 for the vehicle split across the group. The shrine grounds are free; Hinomisaki lighthouse climb is ¥300. Bring cash for the soba shops on the approach.
