Castello di Miramare is a fairy-tale white castle perched on a promontory overlooking the Adriatic, built in the 1850s–60s for Archduke Maximilian of Habsburg and his wife Charlotte. The lavish interiors preserve the couple's original furnishings — from the ship-cabin-style study to the grand throne room. The surrounding 22-hectare park features exotic plants, scenic walking paths, and a small beach. It's Trieste's most-visited sight and a must for anyone interested in Habsburg history, architecture, or simply breathtaking coastal settings.
