The far end of the North Sound has no roads at all, so Saba Rock and the Bitter End Yacht Club are reached the way sailors reach them: a twenty-minute taxi to the dock at Gun Creek and then a launch across the water. Saba Rock is a bar and small hotel occupying an entire rock in the middle of the sound, and the Bitter End is the sailing club that gave the sound its reputation, both rebuilt since the 2017 hurricanes. It is a lovely half day and a genuinely risky one on a port call: budget an hour each way and do not attempt it on a short stop.
