🕐 Best time to visit
Midday, when The Baths is at its busiest
Spring Bay sits a few hundred metres north of The Baths and has the same granite boulders, the same clear shallow water and none of the gate, the fee or the crowd. There is a small car park off the road, a short walk down through the trees and then a curve of sand punctuated by rocks you can swim out to and around. Shade is easy to find, the snorkelling along the boulders is good, and there are no facilities at all beyond a couple of picnic tables. If The Baths is jammed when your bus arrives, ask the driver to drop you here first and walk down to the boulders later.
Getting there from the port
Ask the safari bus to drop you at Spring Bay, just north of The Baths car park
