The Souda Bay War Cemetery holds around 1,500 Commonwealth graves from the 1941 Battle of Crete and the wider Mediterranean campaign, in a beautifully maintained garden on the shore of Souda Bay. Cared for by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission, it is free, moving and only a few minutes from the cruise berth, making it a natural first or last stop on the way into town.
