The Matsugae International Terminal sits at the southern edge of the city centre, putting Glover Garden (5 min walk), Oura Church (5 min), Dejima (10 min), and Chinatown (12 min) all within easy walking distance. For the Peace Park and Atomic Bomb Museum, 3.5 km north, the tram is the best option — ¥150 flat fare, every 5–8 minutes. A tram day pass (¥600/€4) pays for itself after four rides. Most ships dock at Matsugae; larger vessels occasionally use Dejima Pier next door or industrial wharfs at Kogakura/Akunoura (free shuttle provided, 15 min to city). English signage is good at major attractions but limited elsewhere. Cash is still useful for small shops and some restaurants, though IC cards and contactless payments are increasingly accepted. The steep hillside terrain means comfortable walking shoes are essential — Glover Garden and the Dutch Slopes involve significant stair climbing.

From Matsugae cruise terminal, walk 5 min to the nearest tram stop and take tram line 1 or 3 northbound to Matsuyama-machi (¥150/€1, 15 min) for Peace Park and the museum (entry ¥200/€1.30). Then tram south to Oura Tenshudo-shita stop (¥150, 20 min) for Glover Garden (entry ¥1,300/€8.50). The tram day pass at ¥600/€4 covers unlimited rides.

All culture stops are within walking distance of each other in central Nagasaki, a 5–15 min walk from Matsugae terminal. Dejima (¥520/€3.40) is the closest — 5 min walk from the terminal. Oura Church (¥1,000/€6.50) is 10 min south. Sofukuji (¥300/€2) is 15 min east. Megane Bridge is free and sits between them on the Nakashima River.
