From the pier, the waterfront and the small plaza with the town hall are just a couple of minutes away. Much of the village was rebuilt after the 2010 tsunami, and memorials recall the people lost. Walk along the shore to the lighthouse and the cemetery, where German sailors from the SMS Dresden are buried, and watch the fishing boats bringing in lobster traps. It's the easy option if you have little time or don't want to hike.
