The Shin-Yokohama Ramen Museum recreates a 1958 Tokyo neighbourhood underground, complete with dim alleys, vintage storefronts and period details. Nine ramen shops represent regional styles from across Japan: rich Hakata tonkotsu, miso-based Sapporo, soy-flavoured Tokyo and more. Mini portions (about two-thirds size) let you sample multiple bowls. A small museum section upstairs traces ramen history from Chinese origins to instant noodles. The retro atmosphere is half the fun. Allow 60-90 minutes including eating. Located near Shin-Yokohama Station, one stop from Yokohama.
Getting there from the port
