Yamashita Park stretches 700 metres along the waterfront between Osanbashi Pier and Yokohama Chinatown. Built on rubble from the 1923 Great Kanto Earthquake, it is the city's oldest seaside park. A central promenade lined with benches and flower beds faces the harbour, with views of the Bay Bridge and passing ships. The retired liner Hikawa Maru is moored at the eastern end (JPY 300 to board). Rose gardens bloom from May to November. A relaxed starting point before heading into Chinatown or toward Minato Mirai.
Getting there from the port
3-minute walk south from Osanbashi Pier. The park runs directly between the pier and Chinatown.
