Japan Rail's Nichinan Line connects Aburatsu Station to Obi (20 min) and Miyazaki city (75 min) but the station is 3 km from the port. Carry plenty of cash — card acceptance is limited in this rural area.

All three stops are spread along 40 km of coast and hinterland with limited public transport, so DIY relies on a mix of taxis and the hourly JR Nichinan Line. Taxi from the port to Udo Jingu costs about ¥3,500 (€22 per car); from Udo to Obi about ¥4,000; from Obi you can taxi to Aburatsu Station (¥2,700) and take the JR train north to Aoshima (¥750, 30 min). Obi Castle combo ticket is ¥610 and Udo Jingu and Aoshima are free.

Both sites sit south and west of Aburatsu, reachable by taxi in under 25 minutes each. Taxi from port to Udo Jingu costs about ¥3,500 (€22 per car), then Udo to Obi about ¥4,000, and Obi back to port about ¥2,700. Udo Jingu is free; Obi's seven-site combo ticket is ¥610. Steps at Udo Jingu are steep and can be slippery — sturdy shoes essential.
